The website above gives us a huge list of free music to use for our movie. Which music and sounds are the most important part of thriller. Since music and sounds can play with our emotions and tap into them, using them right can make or break the movie. So finding the perfect sounds and music takes a lot of research and time, and the website above is just one of many great websites that gives us free to use music and sounds.

On the other hand, this presentation shows us what kind of lighting to use for thriller movies. Since lighting is a big part of thriller and horror movies, establishing that feel into the movie is very important. For example, using a low-key lighting helps create that feel of danger and mystery to the movie, which most cases that's what one will be working with when it comes to thriller movies. Top lighting is also great when you want to create a mysterious creature and you have a light coming from the top of the creature which only gives us a small look at that creature. Lighting is one of the most important traits of a thriller, but it also makes it one of the hardest traits since it has to be performed perfectly.

In this presentation we are given couple of basic camera shots and angles that are most commonly used in thriller. Including shots such as over the shoulder shots, or tilted angles to get a sensation of tension in the movie. Low and high angles help make the antagonist look superior, which can lead to more of a suspense and discomfort for the audience. Reaction shots can help show the reaction and feelings of the character on the screen, and help build emotions towards what is happening on the background. Thriller is really focused on camera work to get the audience involved in the movie, which we can see a lot of related camera works with horror movies.

The website https://thescriptlab.com/screenplay/genre/thriller gives us a simple but effective list of the sub-genres of thriller. Since thriller itself is too big to include everything, directors have to usually work with sub-genres which in the end is just a "more detailed" genre. For example, you can say you're making a thriller, but about what? Crime? Science fiction? See how that might cause a problem. If you specify your film with a sub-genre, the film becomes much more personal. That is a benefit of a sub-genre in films.
Taking a look back at the actual history of the genre of thriller is somethign really important. If you study enough history, you are able to learn from past mistakes and learn from great success. There is no problem with borrowing ideas from past movies, if they succeeded then ofcourse you will want to learn from it. Thriller is dated all the way back to 1923, which this way there is a lot of content that one can learn from and create something great. The website http://www.filmsite.org/thrillerfilms.html has a pretty good overal history about the genre of thriller which again is a great way to study up on great hits of the  thriller genre.
A very important thing to keep in mind when creating a movie, is to see what will you gain profit from. Since film making is also a type of business, profit is important. No one will want to create a movie that they will end up paying more to create than what they receive back from it. The website bellow shows exaclty what are the top genres of movies in the U.S. by box office revenue. As it shows, thriller comes in at number 5, which compared to the number one, it seems really small but still it's considered top 5. This way movies won't need to be such a high standard but will eventually be easier to creat and still have a chance to receive good revenue.

To make a successful thriller there are specific elements that must go in the writting. Raising the suspense on the main character is one of the main elements to a thriller. Throughout the story, at least for a successsful thriller, you want the main caracter to grow and learn from the problem that occurs throughout the movie. There can be multible problems going throughout the movie, but in the end there has to be a way to tie it all together, or make a final conclusion without letting anything out. If something is left out, there can be risks of people finding holes in the movie that should have never been there. Which can lead to the film collapsing, and not becoming good. With these elements, the risk of the movie succeeding increases.

One of the main focus of a thriller are the characters. The audience needs to feel some kind of relation to the character to get them to get in the world of the story. The writter of the story needs to have a deep knowledge of human psychology to make the characters feels like they're in a thriller, specially since the whole story are focused on character development and how they react to what is happening around them. POV, or point of view, of a character can be a great way to tell a thriller story, since it guides the audience around the problem. Specially if the character is talking to themselves or the audience it brings a feel of danger and can even make the audience themselves feel unconfortable. The whole point is to mess as much as possible with the audience head.

For the film we decided to go with a genre of thriller. Since thriller is a well rounded genre in the film world, there are elements that we can use to make the film as rounded as possible. Some great examples of recent thriller films can be found here: http://the-artifice.com/common-themes-in-psychological-thrillers/. The whole purpose of a thriller is to create thought provoking suspence that makes the watchers feel engaged in the story and have the urge to keep watching to find out what will happen. This can be very fun for a director to create, since it all depends on how much the director can mess with audience. In the other hand, it is also very challenging since nothing can go wrong with the movie, and plot wholes can be the worst enemy to the film director. Even though there are downfalls like that, thriller seems like the best way to go since we can use simple thriller openings to get the audience interested.
